News4Jax.com (Jacksonsville, Florida) posted:

‘With rising temperatures and summer coming, many people’s thoughts are turning to swimming pools. But with social distancing, face masks and other efforts to minimize the spread of the coronavirus new normal, would it be safe to go in the water?…

“…News4Jax put information circulating on social media saying you could catch coronavirus from pool water or in a hot tub through our Trust Index testing to get you a reliable answer….”

One answer offered was from the CDC –

“There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas,” according to the CDC. “Proper operation and maintenance (including disinfection with chlorine and bromine) of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water”

Hot Tub store owner committed to staff & customers during COVID-19

My wife and I bought our Swim Spa at a Hot Tub & Swim Spa Show given by ‘Hot Tubs, Inc.’ in Owings, Maryland. The store serves Maryland, Virginia and along the East Coast.

We received an email from the owner this week with a letter from Kevin Greenwell, the President of ‘Hot Tubs, Inc.’ and ‘Stevenson Pools’.

In the letter, Mr. Greenwell wrote:

Dear friends and customers,

I hope this email finds you well and that you’re staying safe during the current health crisis. As most of you know, our retail store is closed. During this period of time, we’ve committed to paying our retail staff even though they are not working.

With that said, we find ourselves in quite the dilemma. We’ve already purchased and taken delivery of this seasons pool and spa supplies. To continue paying our staff and serving our customers, we’ve come up with a unique idea to help you help us.
We are going to offer a no contact, socially distant pool and spa chemical and accessory delivery service directly to your pool deck or patio area free of charge, along with offering 10% discount on chemicals.
..

Mr. Greenwell elaborated on the promotion’s excellent plan –

Delivery is free of charge and you will receive a text confirmation with a photo of your chemicals on your pool deck at the time of delivery.

As we do our best to slow the spread, maintain a commitment to our customers, and maintain a commitment to our staff and their families, we hope you will remain committed to us by taking advantage of this unique opportunity.

We will begin taking orders Wednesday 4/8 and deliveries will begin on 4/9. Please share with your neighbors, friends and family that may not be on our email contact list. Please stay inside during our chemical delivery. The safety of our employees and our customers is what’s most important!

We value your business and thank you for your commitment to us over the past 41 years.

My best,

Kevin Greenwell
President
